1000 Cigarettes
1000 Cigarettes begins with a repeated gesture: a hand raised, a brief drag, a moment spent looking elsewhere. Moving between street observation and close portraiture, I follow the cigarette as a small interruption in the day. The pictures leave room for each person, without pretending that a passing encounter can tell their whole story.

American Rot turns toward what remains: a weathered club sign, a television in an empty room, a crutch against a broken window. I approach these spaces as records of use and absence, looking closely at the objects and surfaces left behind. The series considers how places hold traces of everyday life long after their purpose has changed.
